It all started in 1996. Since then, no elections took place in Tamil Nadu without a buzz about Rajinikanth, the one and only Superstar. With Assembly polls round the corner, the top actor is in limelight this time too.

Days after candidates of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Bharatiya Janata Party called on the Superstar and sought his support, a candidate of the main opposition AIADMK too has met Rajini.

And he is none other than Saidai Duraisamy, who is testing waters against Deputy Chief Minister and DMK treasurer M K Stalin in Kolathur constituency. He met Rajinikanth at his residence in Chennai recently. The meeting, according to sources, lasted for nearly 20 minutes. Duraisamy presented a shawl to the Superstar and sought his support. Rajinikanth also honoured Duraisamy with a shawl.
